Thanksgiving Dinner

I miss the traditional Thanksgiving where we'd go over Grandma Collins house and eat Thanksgiving Dinner around the table with all the family gathered there. And eating all Grandma's delicious foods that she cooked. And after dinner sitting around talking and catching up on things and talking about memories of the past. Mostly I miss the traditional Thanksgiving Dinner where we'd go to Grandma and Grandpa's house and spend time with family. I miss my family and I really miss my Grandma. Thanksgiving isn't the same without her. I think next year I am going to cook Thanksgiving Dinner myself. This year I went with Jen and her family to Golden Corral to eat Thanksgiving Dinner. We waited in line for 40 minutes until finally we got a place and could eat. There was 14 of us so they had to give us two tables. Ladt year Jen and I had Thanksgiving Dinner at our house when we lived up on the mountain and we had her family there and we ate and watched football, the way its supposed to be on Thanksgiving. Football, family and food. Next year I am cooking Thanksgiving Dinner and hopefully Mom and Dad will come over and Jen's family and Grandpa and Bear and Scoop and Eric. If not I will eat and watch football by myself. I am sure Bear and Scoop and Eric will come. Every Thanksgiving before I got with Jen I always them three over for dinner. The tradition got broken I am going to have to make it a tradition again. I had a good Thanksgiving this year. I only worked 5 hours today and then went to eat at Golden Corral with Jen and her family. But, eating Thanksgiving Dinner at a restaurant isn't the same as a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner where you eat at home with family and watch football and everything that comes with that. I am definitely cooking next year.

Thanksgiving Day

Went to work and did paperwork and then helped Peggy clean. Then I decided to check out of dates. I didn't finish because it was time for me to go home. Came home and Jen wasn't home so I took Bella and Cinder outside. I missed the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. Then I gave the dog's water and mopped and swept the kitchen. Now I am sitting outside with the dogs. Next I am going to start laundry because I am so behind on it. Not sure what else the day will be like. I got off at 12 and Jen still hasn't come home but she is at her Grandparents so I understand that she should be with them cos its important to spend time with your family on Thanksgiving. Mom and Dad don't celebrate Thanksgiving. I figured Jen would be home when I got here so we could apend Thanksgiving together. Oh well its all good. I am spending Thanksgiving with my dogs Bella and Cinder. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Be thankful for everything and everyone you got. Enjoy your day.

Day 10

Day 10 of being thankful

I am thankful for having such good friends and best friends. I have been best friends with Karen since elementary school. I remember we used to play dj and write stories and poetry together. We had such fun growing up. And Karen would come with us on our family outings on the weekends and we would buy the latest single out on tape. I was into New Kids On The Block, Spice Girls and Hanson. Karen liked Spice Girls but she wasn't obsessed like I was lol. I had a Donnie Wahlburg poster on my wall and a Spice Girl poster and back then I used to buy all the teen magazines every time mom and i went to the store. I had a ton of posters on my wall. I am thankful that Karen has been around this long. I am sometimes hard to be around but Karen has stuck by me this whole time. She is such a great best friend. And she is like a sister to me. Thank you Karen for always being there even if we lived miles apart you were still there for me emotionally and listened to all my problems and troubles.

I am also thankful for my best friend Bear. He and I have been friends since 2008 and he has stuck by me even though he has given me plenty of advice and I did the opposite and he was always right. Lol. I remember how every holiday Bear would come celebrate with me. And thankfully this year he is coming to celebrate Thanksgiving with me. I am cooking at my house this year. Its going to be nice to have him again for another holiday. He has been there through thick and thin for me. He even went through the craziness of my ex wife with me and boy was that a mess of course that's not over yet since I am not officially divorced. When I first met Bear I was sort of intimidated by him and a little scared of him but eventually learned he wasn't a scary guy of course unless you piss him off. He is a lovable guy, a teddy bear. I am glad I am still friends with him. I always tried to make Bear's Birthday special every year since his family is in New York. Bear is family to me even if he isn't blood.

And I can't forget the friends I have at work that I am thankful for. Since they have to deal with my craziness and the mess that I am lol. Poor April has to deal with me every day even on my days off cos she can't keep me away haha.

I am thankful for all the friends I have who have been and are still there for me and are still around. Sometimes I get crazy but they stay around. I am thankful for my friends. I am also thankful for the friends I have made over the years and my friends on Facebook who have to hear me whine and complain which is a lot.

Cooking

Decided to cook tonight so I am making Fettucini Alfredo that my sister Donica gave me. I am in a cooking mood tonight. I made my grocery list for Thanksgiving. I am cooking this year and gonna use my crockpot. I am making a whole bunch of stuff to eat. I can't wait, I am excited. And Bear is coming for Thanksgiving Dinner. So it shall be a grand ole affair.

Thanksgiving List

Started my THANKSGIVING Dinner Grocery list. Stefany started hers so I copied some of what she had. She gave me the idea lol. I am making my Grandma Collins Potato Salad again this year. Gonna make yams even though I don't like them.

Daily Writing Prompt: Thanksgiving

So in November is Thanksgiving. And with that comes what you are grateful for this month. So each day in November I will write what I am grateful for. Last night I wrote a blog about what I am thankful for amd grateful for. But I have lots that I am thankful for and grateful for. So I have all month to write about it and I plan on doing so. I am not sure what we are doing for Thanksgiving but if we don't have plans then we are going to have Thanksgiving at our house. And I will invite all or family and friends. My parents never come to holiday functions because they don't celebrate holidays. Well mom doesn't and its hard to get dad out of the house to do anything at all.
