I could feel a Thunderstorm coming

my knees had started to ache

the thunder, lightning and rain

was on its way, if it hadn't already came

I decided to go outside

The sky was black as night

the birds were no longer in sign

the trees had begun to shake

as the wind picked up

the leaves were being blown about

I could feel the boom of the thunder hit

as I was standing on my deck

and I felt the vibration

The rain started pouring down quickly

huge raindrops pounding against the ground

I could feel them on my shoe

They felt like needles jabbing my foot

WON'T WAKE UP

I woke up one morning and found that everyone in my house was still asleep and wouldn't wake up. Only it wasn't just my house. It was the whole world. I decided to hop online and see if anyone else was awake. I find on new post titled, "Anyone Else Awake". It had 3 comments. The first comment said, "What is happening? Why isn't anyone waking up?". The second comment said, "What happened to the world? The news stations are out, nothing is being broadcasted. I looked out the window and there is no sign of movement. None of the neighbors have left their houses". The third comment said, "Are we the only ones alive? No one will wake up". I commented, "I think whatever happened last night has killed everyone in their sleep. We're the only ones left".

I see shadows dancing on the pavement
could they be shadows of the ghosts
who are still attached to this building
that haven't moved on?
Off in the distance
the sound of a train horn can be heard
I see the squirrels come running up
to eat the peanuts i left for them
The birds fly up and land on the branches
waiting for the squirrels to leave
so they can eat their birdseed and sunflower seeds i put out for them
I stand in the sun and puff my cigarette
The sun is warm against my skin
And than the wind blows sending a cold chill down my spine
I stand outside up on the mountain top at my mountain home
I stand outside enjoying nature

• Very true! Well said@lesbrownmotivates My reason for WILL get me back up! I may have fallen, but I WON'T be down for too long! I am fuckin determined to make a change that will lead me to the life I want because this right now is sure the fuck NOT the life I want to live. I love my parents but I don't EVER want to turn out to be the way they are now! This is NOT how they raised me! I am BETTER than this! I WILL get back on my feet! I WILL create the life I've always wanted. I am damned determined to make this current change in my life ONLY temporary. I HATE change but most of the time I'm able to adapt to the change, but NOT this!

I am going to accept responsibility for my life! It is ME and only me that put myself in this situation and only ME who can and will get myself out of this situation. I know that no one else can get me out of this situation and in the past my parents have helped me and bailed me out of situations BUT, I'm not a kid anymore, I'm an adult. I need to be independent and take responsibility for my actions and fix my current situation myself. I did this to myself, I guess I'm gluten for punishment. The thing I HATE the most about myself currently is that I've come to realize that I'm becoming like my father or well let's be honest, I've become just like my father. I love my dad don't get me wrong BUT, I do NOT want to be like him in any way shape or form. I used to look up to him and I used to want to be like him but NOT anymore!!! I AM better than this! I unlike him will NOT just give up on life. I DO have dreams and goals and things I want to accomplish in life. I thought he did too but I guess I was wrong because he unfortunately and sadly gave up on life so to speak in a way. I don't want to stop exercising, become lazy, give up on my health & sit on my ass daily and just let myself waste away! NO I WILL NOT! . I will NOT become like that! I will NOT have achieved Certifications and a College Degree and have gone through years of training only to never put those to use! I want more for my life!
