At the beginning of November we started Operation Christmas Child. I was and still am very excited to be a part of this. It’s a great cause and lots of children are going to be happy and blessed with God’s love this Christmas. I love my job because our company is always raising money for something and that’s one thing I love doing.
At work we’re raising money for OCC, we ask customers if they would like to donate to OCC. With the money we buy items and fill the items in a shoe box for different age groups for boys and girls. The shoe boxes are picked up and off they go to their destinations. Each child gets a shoe box for Christmas, no not children around here or in the U.S. Children in other countries who don’t have anything at all. I love doing this because I am grateful for everything I had growing up as a child and grateful for everything I have now. Those children over there have nothing. Children around here and in the U.S. have Toys For Tots, Salvation Army, Angel Tree and I’m sure many many other organizations that makes sure they do not go without during Christmas. It’s a good cause and I am proud and happy that I get to be a part of it.
The more shoe boxes we pack the more shoe boxes each child will get for Christmas. I stuffed a shoe box full of Spider-Man items and put my name and photo and address in it. I hope the boy that gets it writes me back, that would be cool. Every child should feel the joy and love on Christmas.
