How to handwrite a letter

by: Angela Bean

When writing a handwritten letter always make sure your handwriting is neat and legible. Most people these days type their letters but there are a few that still handwrite a letter.

In order to handwrite a letter you must have the right writing utensil. Make sure you have a sharpened pencil if choosing to use a pencil. Or if using a pen make sure you're using a pen that will not leak or bleed ink as that would cause the handwritten letter not to be legible. The way to handwrite a letter is make sure you have a clean piece of paper, you wouldn't want a torn piece of paper or paper that was dirty. Using different types of stationary is also a good idea because it would draw the reader of the letter to want to read the letter much more than they would if you just used a boring old white piece of notebook paper.

When handwriting a letter you want to make sure to use proper grammar and make sure you capitalize everything that should be capitalized. Use periods and commas where they are supposed to be. There is nothing worse than reading a letter someone wrote and it having bad grammar because then it takes you just that much more time sitting there trying to figure out what the writer of the letter is trying to say. Do not use run on sentences, make sure you put periods where they belong. It's very annoying when you are reading a letter and the writer didn't put periods in the correct spot and they used run on sentences and you are sitting there trying to figure out what the writer is trying to say. I normally have to re-read it several times to try to figure out what the writer is trying to say. It doesn't bother me that people write with bad grammar but it's just a little annoying because it takes me that much more time to read the letter because I have to figure out what the writer is trying to say.

REMEMBER: When you write anything, make sure to use proper grammar, proper spelling, proper pronunciation and put the periods and commas where they are supposed to go. If you are unsure about the spelling of a word than look it up. If you are unsure about correct pronunciation than pick up a dictionary or a thesaurus.
